Thank you so much for bringing my childhood to the screen in such a beautiful way. I can't thank you enough. Some people will say that this universe that J.K brought to life is just some non existing rubbish , but we that have grown up with it know better. And when you are going to make a movie of the books that are so close to your heart, you become skeptic! But you managed to make them into beautiful movies, and end this amazing series in a proper magical way! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!
Jess from England wrote at February 26, 2012:
I'd just love to say thank you for all of your efforts as director for the last four Harry Potter films. They were true masterpieces and did Jo proud. I found it great to see such amazing British talent (like Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Dame Maggie Smith, Gary Oldman and so many more) showcased in the films. It was interesting to see the approach you took to help transform the books from page to screen though it was sad to see virtually all of Emma Thompson’s scenes cut from Deathly Hallows Part 2. A lot of us were deeply looking forward to seeing Emma Thompson reprise her role in an equally dramatic way as it was portrayed in the books.

You did such an awesome job bringing the final 4 films to screen! My favorites are Deathly Hallows Part 2 (my favorite HP film overall) and Order of the Phoenix. I loved the direction you took the films and how instead of the action being the main focus, you made the characters the driving force for the story. Deathly Hallows Part 2, especially, blew me away with the emotional and scale of it.

Hello David,
My name is Hannah May Mcpheron, I was born with baby legs. They never developed past age 5. I am now 18. I'll never be able to walk or run, and I'll probably never leave my house. I grew up with Harry Potter. Reading and imaging myself in the stories right along side the trio. When the movies started coming out it was like christmas every time one was released. I love through Harry Potter, and his story gives me hope that I can overcome this crippling and become strong like he did with Voldemort, In a way, directing these movies you've given me my legs. Because when I watch these movies, I feel as if I'm walking and learning right besides these characters, it feels that real.
Aliya Nsabrina from Indonesia wrote at February 22, 2012:
Hello Mr. David my name Aliya, from INDONESIA! thank you, thank you so much for what you've done for Harry Potter series, for directing these movies! And make it amazing, awesome, such a great and hard work you and all the team have done! All the cast, details, the costume, the place, the art were just really like I imagine when I read the book. Harry Potter always means a lot for me, and I couldn't thank you even more, me, my friends and potter fans in Indonesia, and must be all of Harry Potter fans in the whole world only could say THANK YOU SO MUCH MR. DAVID YATES! Best director ever! :D --
Molly from USA wrote at February 22, 2012:
Dear David Yates;

My name is Molly, and I am a shameless Potterhead!

I read all of the books in two weeks and fell in love. So of course I wanted to see the movies! Sadly (Not for lack of trying.) I've only seen 4 of the movies. But dear gosh, you should've seen me watch them!

The screaming and flailing that comes with seeing my favorite characters come to life flawlessly. The falling in love with them for the second, third, fourth time.

The jumping and laughing when they some something so iconic, whether from the book or added in.

The end of the movies, when all you can do is simply wish it were true, and wanting nothing more to attend Hogwarts yourself.

Thank you for making magic real, you truly are a Wizard.
Dani from England wrote at February 22, 2012:
Thank you for directing the Harry Potter movies - they are amazing! In my opinion they help enormously when reading the books to get the perfect idea of the characters and settings :) I really think HP fans everywhere owe you big style! Thanks again for your brilliant directing :)
Kayleigh B from Ohio wrote at February 22, 2012:
I couldn't thank you enough for directing the movies that were a huge part of my childhood. I've watched the movies since I was very, very young and I still watch them frequently at age 14. The movies couldn't be the same with any other director. You are the best director the world has to offer. The cast, the story, the special effects. The Harry Potter films are the best films ever. Thank you so much, David Yates, your films were and are still a huge part of my life.
Belle Fulton from California, USA wrote at February 22, 2012:
David Yates. Wow. I don't even know where to begin. . . Okay. I do, that was a lie. I want to start out with thanks, however insufficient that may seem. You took the magic and put it in film. I remember first reading a Harry Potter book when I was only 6, and you gave me the opportunity to go to the cinema and watch everything unfold before my very eyes. This action repeated itself; my dad, brother and I reading the books then going to watch it on the big screen. Being apart of the cinematic experience forged my childhood. You brought all the fans together with your films as well. You helped solidify the fandom J.K. Rowling created, and people were able to bond over premieres, gatherings, and heal when we did happen to feel alone. The impact on our lifes is awesome. Thank you.
Bailey from Texas wrote at February 22, 2012:
Thank you so much for directing these Harry Potter films. They all really mean a lot to me, and to a lot of other people as well. Harry, has always been apart of my childhood, so thank you for helping it onto the big screen. Hogwarts forever.
Azul from Argentina wrote at February 22, 2012:
Hullo David! I don't expect you to remember me, since you meet Harry Potter addicts, fans, or whatever you would like to call them, almost every day! Nevertheless, we met at the Harry Potter November Celebration 2011 in Universal Studios. I know you might get a lot of these, nowadays, but still- I admire you. The work you have done with the Harry Potter series is really impressive; and on top of all, to make Jo Rowling's imagination come to life... it leaves me at a loss for words. Well... that's pretty much it... so, keep up the good work!
Stephanie R. from USA wrote at February 21, 2012:
Hi, David! Just want to send you a big thanks for bringing my childhood to the big screen. We always thank the actors, but it's time to acknowledge the directors. Genuinely, thank you for everything you've done to make Harry Potter come true.
Manal wrote at February 21, 2012:
Harry Potter was my life when I was a kid. Of course I talk like I'm not anymore; but for the better part of ten out of sixteen years if my life, I've been a fan of the series. Mr Yates, you brought this series from the page to the big screen. You helped me see the things I could only imagine. Though you may not have worked throughout the series, but you did direct a majority of the films, and for that, I thank you.
